The Ventura Police Activities League, better known as Ventura PAL, is a not for profit 501c3 charitable organization. Our mission is to promote involvement between the youth, the police, and the citizens of the City of Ventura by providing meaningful programs in the areas of sports, academics, education, and recreation; to improve the conditions and relationships within the community of Ventura; to promote scholastic opportunities; to foster and encourage faith in American principles and traditions; and to encourage the development of sportsmanship, friendship, citizenship, and good will within the youth of the City of Ventura.

Ventura Police Activities League programs help create strong bonds between our youth, police department and the community we serve. The Ventura Police Activities League encourages kids to stay in school and helps fund mentoring, tutoring, recreation and educational after-school activities. The teamwork of the Ventura Police Activities League, our City and the Ventura Unified School District help disadvantaged youth grow into productive citizens and gives us a positive and proactive approach to crime prevention.

3rd Annual Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC) Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Toy Drive

Once again this year our department, and our non-profit foundation the Ventura Police Activities League, have teamed up with the Castro Family for the 3^rd Annual Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC) Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Toy Drive – happening now through December 20^th.

Ten year old Corey Castro was diagnosed with Gorham’s Disease (an extremely rare bone disease) in September 2008. This disease has affected his hip, pelvis, spine and ribs but not his courageous and generous spirit. Over the last couple years Corey, and his sister Paige, collected toys for the VCMC Treatment Center with great success, raising more than $5,000 in toys and monetary donations. Our goal again this year is to provide each patient and their siblings with gifts so as to help brighten their holidays. Toys and gifts should be between $10 to $20 and if you would like to make a donation please contact Dan Castro at 805.377.8007 or via e-mail at dannycast@aol.com. Taste of Cypress Place & Classic Car Show

Cypress Place Senior Living, in conjunction with the Ventura Police Activities League (PAL), will be holding the “Taste of Cypress Place & Classic Car Show” on Wednesday evening, August 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Ventura PAL and support Ventura PAL’s primary goal of providing at-risk youth within our community with meaningful recreational, athletic, educational, and cultural activities.

As part of the event, Ventura PAL is also selling raffle tickets for the following items:

Sony 40” Internet TV ($800 value)
Acer 10.1” tablet ($500 value)

Raffle tickets are $5 for one, or five for $20.
