Tri-Tip BBQ Benefitting VPD Family Member Diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease)

WHAT:  Tri-Tip BBQ Benefitting VPD Family Member Diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease)

WHEN:  Saturday July 16^th, 10:00am – 6:00pm

WHERE:  Albertson’s (7800 Telegraph Rd.), on the corner of Telegraph and Kimball

ABOUT THE EVENT:

One of our VPD family members was recently diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) which has no known cause, cure, or treatment.  Our department’s non-profit foundation, the Ventura Police Activities League (PAL) is partnering with Albertsons and holding a BBQ fundraiser to raise funds in support of our VPD family member.

All proceeds will go directly to the family in an effort to try and help with some of the financial costs associated with this tragic disease.

The BBQ comes with a choice of:

—- Whole Cooked Tri-Tip $15.00

OR

—- Tri-Tip Sandwich, Chips and Drink $8.00

We will also have a variety of silent auction and raffle prizes

Tickets can be purchased in a variety of ways — in advance by calling 805.901.1111, at the K9 Storefront located in the Pacific View Mall (lower level near Target), at the front desk of VPD’s headquarters (1425 Dowell Dr.) from 8 am to 5 pm M-Th., or even on the day of at the event.

14 Annual PAL Golf Tournament Presented by Aera Energy

We want to thank all of our sponsors, players, and volunteers who helped make the 14th Annual PAL Golf Tournament at Olivas Links and huge success.

The golf, weather, food, prizes, and camaraderie were great, but most importantly we raised over $33,000 for our youth in the community!

PAL Bowl & HOG Football Schedule

HOGS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations are in order to the Ventura County Hogs for their win over the California Blue Knights.  The Hogs won 34-7!

We want to thank all of the businesses who sponsored the game and of course everyone who came out in support of the Hogs and Ventura PAL.  The numbers are still coming in but it looks like we will make over $7,000 for Ventura PAL!   That’s great news.  All this money will stay local and will help to make a difference in the lives of our local youth through after school  programs and other enrichment activities.    Thanks again for your support.

• The Hogs unfortunately lost this game 7-0

• March 6, 2010,  1500 hrs, vs Orange County Lawmen at San Juan Hills High School, San Juan Capistrano

• Congratulations Hogs!  Hogs win 14-6…The Hogs beat the Orange County Lawmen at this game on March 6. It was a close game but the Hogs defense was the deciding factor. Ventura Police Officer Kyle Robinson and Sgt. Brian Hewlett both scored defensive touchdowns for the Hogs. A huge thanks, goes out to the OC Lawmen for being fantastic hosts! We h ope to see you next year and continue on what could be a great tradition and rivalry
